Once again amazed with the service here. I come and pick up dim sum to go each Sunday, since this is a workplace tradition I have been getting to know Hong Kong Tea House quite well. They are willing to reach out via phone call once my order is ready, which I appreciate so much.
Service is astounding, and the food is never lackluster. Five stars from me from now and for always.
PS. Best steamed pork buns available in the city. -

The search for a decent dim sum place continues...
Hong Kong Tea house has a few excellent items. Definitely go for the pork dumplings, chiu chow dumplings, shrimp dumplings, and the BBQ pork buns. While the shrimp noodle was delicious, the noodle itself was not very smooth. But the flavors definitely taste authentic, and the shrimp are well sized. I also thought the chef provided very generous portions of the pork rib, with great fragrance and flavor too. One thing you might miss is the Tin-wrapped BBQ chicken--order this and share with the group, but don't burn your hands!
Tea is interesting here because it is served in traditional clay teapots instead of porcelain/tin teapots. Try the basic $1 per person teas, or the $3 per person high quality teas. Bring a person who knows the different teas to really enjoy them to the max.
Servers are very nice and come check on customers frequently. One problem (which I also find at other dim sum places in SLC) is that the lighting here is very dim, and round tables for 4 are a bit too small. But this problem is more aesthetic and will not really hinder the dining experience that much. Also note that there are no egg tarts or dessert items here. But even though items are limited, the variety of the specialties make you want to come back! -

Yet another pleasant surprise!
Hong Kong Tea House is a quaint little restaurant that seems to be transported straight from Hong Kong to SLC! Yes, it is that good!
Amazingly good! All the dim sum were cooked to order, and you can see the difference, for instance, all the wrappers in the different dumplings are all intact and has the perfect bouncy texture! The fillings are very juicy and plump! This type of dim sum wrapping is harder and harder to find as nowadays, a lot of larger dim sum places would pre-steam their dim sums for faster service, most of the time they all become soggy and can break easily.
We also ordered their very famous Glutinous Rice Ball filled with Black Sesame, again cooked to order, and not too sweet, each rice ball is rolled in grated coconut, what a perfect way to end a very satisfying lunch!
Thanks to Yanny! Our lovely and friendly Server, she offers very courteous service and was extra helpful in introducing dim sum items to us! -

Steamed fish is good. Dim sum is good. Tea is good. Probably the best dim sum in Utah (not that there is much competition).

Best dim sum in salt lake. Not sure why their reviews are not as great. BUT never been disappointed here. Steamed fish is SO good here! A lot of choices and pretty affordable prices. You order on a paper so it's quite easy and stressfree. Just a great experience overall :)
